Mark Sanfilippo, originally a painter, made the transition to working with metal in 2007. Inspired by the same source material – the great masters, architecture and design, he released his first jewellery collection MESSENGERS in 2008, which featured in Time Out Sydney Magazines We Love / Check out section ( Sept 3-9 2008) and was commissioned to make a piece from this collection for Olivia Newton John.
Releasing CITY LIGHTS SUMMER 2009/2010, Sanfilippo has made pieces inspired by his love of Art deco theatre signage, using singular pieces of silver, bent and pierced by hand that catch the light of a more stardusted age.
